History of All Hallows Academy

All Hallows Academy was originally established and staffed by five Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. The Mission and Philosophy of the school were built from the premise of the Sisters of St. Joseph: “Their vision would give their descendants a firm commitment to the values of excellence, right relationships, justice, service to the ‘dear neighbor’, gentleness, peace, and joy” (History of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet).

The Sisters opened a kindergarten through fourth-grade school in 1964.  By 1966, All Hallows Academy grew to include kindergarten through eighth grade. The Sisters of St. Joseph remained until 1975 when the Sisters of Mercy took over. From 1975–1977, the Sisters of Mercy staffed the school, and women from several other religious communities were also a part of the faculty.  In 1977, a nun of the Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Michigan assumed the role of Principal. She worked with a lay faculty until 2002.   The administration, faculty, and staff continue to carry on the mission and values of the original founding Sisters of St. Joseph of excellence, right relationships, justice, and service throughout our community.

All Hallows Academy grew to include a Transitional Kindergarten in the fall of 2014.

All Hallows Academy is committed to providing a strong academic foundation that is the key to student’s success in high school. Our teachers and administrators work closely with the local Catholic high schools (Cathedral Catholic High School, The Academy of Our Lady of Peace, and Saint Augustine High School) to ensure that our students are well-equipped to manage the academic rigor and social demands of high school. This collaboration is a testament to our shared commitment to the success and well-being of our students.
