Garden Education

Garden Education

Each year, the third-grade class, with support from parents, tends to the school garden.  Garden education for our students integrates hands-on learning with core academic subjects, promoting environmental stewardship, healthy eating habits, and a deeper understanding of natural sciences.

Goals and Objectives:

  1. Science Understanding: Teach basic plant biology, ecology, and environmental science through direct interaction with the garden.
  2. Healthy Eating: Educate students about nutrition and the importance of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  3. Responsibility and Teamwork: Develop a sense of responsibility and teamwork as students collaborate to maintain the garden.
  4. Connection to Nature: Foster an appreciation for nature and an understanding of sustainable practices.
