Grades 6-8
Departmentalized Middle School Program
All Hallows Academy's middle school program is not just departmentalized, but also comprehensive, providing a rigorous spiritual and academic program. This structure, with eight periods a day and students rotating between different teachers and classrooms for each subject, allows for more focused and in-depth instruction. This comprehensive approach ensures that students are well-prepared for high school.
This structure prepares students for the transition to high school by fostering independence, time management, and responsibility. As a Catholic school, we integrate faith-based education with academic rigor, aiming to develop the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
It is our priority to provide a cohesive educational experience for the students, and therefore, the middle school team collaborates closely. Cross-curricular planning is a key aspect of this approach, ensuring that different subjects are interconnected and reinforcing each other.
Team Collaboration
- Regular Meetings: Teachers from different subjects (e.g., English, math, science, social studies, religion) meet regularly to discuss curriculum alignment, student progress, and shared goals.
- Common Planning Time: Scheduled time during the school day for teachers to plan lessons, discuss strategies, and coordinate activities.
